I took a philosophy class in College and the professor told us about controlling our dreams. No one believed him and we all laughed. A couple of days later a couple of us mentioned in class that we were able to control our dreams. Has this happened to anyone else?

It's scientific that you can control your dreams. Ever heard of Lucid Dreaming:

ucid dreaming is the conscious perception of one's state while dreaming, resulting in a much clearer ("lucid") experience and usually enabling direct control over the content of the dream.[1] The complete experience from start to finish is called a lucid dream. Stephen LaBerge, a popular author and experimenter on the subject, has defined it as "dreaming while knowing that you are dreaming."[2]

There some dreams that you can control and there are some that you can't. It depends on your brain and conscious too. Sleeping is a form of relaxation.. So while you sleeping, the brain doesn't really doing work, it's just relaxing. If it happens to be that you're in a bad dream, and you are consciously awake, you can control your dream by changing the story/outcome. Also, what you do each day can also affect your dream and how you want to your dream to be like. Let's say you had a fight with you best friend today..and all you think about is this best friend, more likely, you are going to dream about this person. So ,it really depends on the situation.

It is my thought that dreams are a manifestation of our daily thoughts or, more precisely, our interpretation of our daily experiences. If we put in our minds that we want to control the dreams, in all probability, that idea will become a part of the dream. But, we are not controlling the dream as much as we are controlling what and how we think during the day. Try keeping a journal of your daily experiences and your thoughts and compare them with a journal of your dreams. Maybe dreams aren't so mysterious at all.

You can control your dreams because your mind does not completely shut down when you are sleeping so I think u can still use the brain to control dreams.

i think of all people has the suited approach right here. you have many kinds of desires. Lucid desires that ensue each and all of the time (or in many circumstances...) Nightmares - ones we are no be counted if we are waiting to regulate them on the start or no longer, one unexpected concern in that dream can turn it right into a nightmare. no longer all people's waiting to regulate their desires. an identical is going with remembering them, some people can only dream in B&W and others can only dream particularly colours, or complete shade , or each and all of the above. desires of kinfolk tend to steer in the direction of a stable physchic connection between kin. for sure you comprehend you have been difficult on your Dad on your awakenings. I do have a query, is he aive in awkenings, or has he handed? via fact it could be subconsious attempting to tell you some thing.

Yes, it is possible. I've been able to do it since I was a kid. One way to develop the skill is every day throughout the day, look at something and in your mind tell it to levitate (you can do this to yourself). When something actually levitates, you realize that you are dreaming. Thoughts become instant realities in dreams. As soon as you think "I want to fly", you are flying. This is a learned skill that is relatively easy to develop.

DREAMS r the consolations for the mind which failed to achieve in reality. U do what u dream , u wont get that dream any more.

No, I can't control my dreams otherwise they wouldn't be dreams, dreams need to be spontaneous and free otherwise you are not having a dream but a conscious thought.
