Granted I'm a woman but for me it's not entirely about what the other person looks like. There has to be some kind of attraction but perfection is not something I'm interested in. The flaws are what make us interesting.
If the person I was with happened to gain or loose a lot of weight I'd want to know why but if I loved them I'd stay with them. I'm assuming here that everything else in the relationship is going well here.

I prefer a nice plumpish cuddly woman, but having said that, my last girlfriend (woman friend) we are both in our mid-forties, was a size 10 when i met her and was going through a very messy split with hubby, so she was a bit on the skinny side when i met her, this was not a problem as a woman is a woman, it doesn't matter what size she is, but when she got down to a size 6, i sat her down to talk and tell her how worried i was, she was depressed, so i sat and let her pour everything out, about 3 hours later, she was all cried out. The following day, she started back on the road to recovery, sorry to digress, but, i would not break up with someone just coz they put on or loose a few pounds, if you love and care for someone, you should be there for them when they need you, sometimes you have to say something, my last girlfriend and i are now the best of mates, we cannot be together coz i suffer from paranoia, please look at yourself through my eyes and believe me, you will feel fantastic

Ther is no ideal. I myself think women look better when they are curvy. My male friends would much rather have j lo than kate moss.
But it's the person on the inside that counts not what's on the outside. If you know and love someone why should it matter if they gain or lose a few pounds. Us humans can be so shallow.

if you really care about the person it should matter what they look like on the out side but losing or gaining a lot of weight in a short period of time could be a medical problem you might want to suggest they see a doctor

For me personaly, I would defanetly stay with them. If love is true love between the two then there should be no reason to leave. But if there is no real love, and only lust, wouldnt it be a good thing if they left? At least then you would know where you had stood in the relationship instead of woundering all the time.

iv put on 1.5 stone in the last year (used to be 8-8.5 stone, 5'6") and at first was really naffed off about it, but my boyfriend says that he prefers me with a bit of meat!! This in turn has made me feel confident about the weight gain, which 2 years ago would have mortified me!!

Pixie its whats inside that matters. As you get older looks are not what life is all about. Find a person to love not a body. Even your own.

body shape...lets see, thin upper body, thin arms, small boobs, a bit belly is okay, normal girl butt, normal girl legs and thigh
as long as the girl is not bigger than me, i'm fine
