Because a big explosion didn't create the earth.
Look, you can choose to believe what you like. I think you're wrong, and there's plenty of scientifically-tested evidence to back up the theory of the Big Bang. Read below for more.

You believe in the rapture... yeah... that's a pretty dumb thing. You believe that "... people think a big explosion would create earth thats (sic) the dumbest thing." Yeah... that's a pretty dumb thing, too. Why is it, then, that the only people who say things like "... a big explosion created the earth" are scientifically ignorant Christians, who haven't got the foggiest idea what they're talking about? Scientists certainly don't say that. Rational people certainly don't say that. Educated people certainly don't say that. Where does that leave you?

I think the dumbest thing is not considering that God could have created the universe in any way He chose, including The Big Bang. After all, an entity without beginning or end would think 4 billion years a long afternoon. To believe in ancient human interpretation of "God's word" over the unimaginable capabilities of a God without beginning or end seems dumb to me in the extreme. But then again, that's my opinion, just as your belief in The Rapture. Nothing but an opinion.

Open your Bible. I don't have time to specifically check, but the Bible does say that God created our world out of a previous one. (There was matter there beforehand). This allows for room of interpretation. The Bible, very well could be the start of recording at the beginning of Humanity, not the Beginning of the universe. The Big Bang can be used in correlation with the Biblical text even though the Big Bang is a theory will almost NO evidence backing it up.

If you are referring to the "Big Bang" I would suggest to you that there is a lot more evidence to support that then there is to support you being whisked away to LA LA land by some mythical creature created in the minds of people living several thousand years ago.

what the heck are you talking about? no one has ever suggested such a thing...at least no one i know. if you are referring to the big bang, then you have no idea what that theory is about. i suggest you study a little bit more science before you try to criticize a theory which you obviously don't understand.
god, i am so sorry for all of the stupid people in the world who never paid attention in school.

You have no proof but a book of fairy tales for the Rapture. I have the culmination of centuries of scientific inquiry and a progression of mathematics that each passing discovery brings closer and closer in line with the observed universe.
You, Sir, are the dumbest thing.

The earth wasn't formed by a big explosion. The earth was formed by gravitational coalescence of planetesimals.
