I recently came back from a mission in Africa. While I was there, I did great things like bring them, food, water, and showed them magic tricks. I use the magic tricks to show them the power of Jesus. Once they see the trick, I tell them that if they don't become Christians, they will burn in hell for all of eternity. Is this the fastest way to save souls? Is there a more efficient way?

I think you seriously need to rethink your approach. What makes you think your fire and brimstone - threaten them or else approach worked at all? All you may have done is scare these poor people into agreeing with you just to get you out of their face. Would you prefer that or a lasting conversion?
I think the best way to convert someone is to show them the love and peace you have found by being a Christian. Those things are pretty universal and most people want them. Love and peace go so much further than threats and intimidation.

Jesus said He came to give life. He responded to them with love and compassion. He was not this gushy person that Hollywood reflects. He was direct and told the truth but only when He was in the face of treachery. His heart came because His desire was that non should perish and call everyone unto Him because of His love. He didn't love them then bash them in the head. Yes, He spoke of a literal hell and separation from God but His love was manifested...II Peter 3:9. In Matthew 10:28 Jesus taught those whom we should fear. Yes hell is real yet His love is more real. He is clear that if you truly seek Him you will find Him. We need to help those seeking Him and teach them to seek Him and the Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to them and we do this in love first. He tells us plainly that love is the greatest of all. 53 times hell is mentioned. Jude 22, 23 some assist in love and some assist in fear. Everyone is different and has a specific way of approach. I believe we need to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to know what is best for the particular situation.

Acting the way you do is one of the main reasons a lot of people that are not Christians don't want anything to do with becoming a Christian or believing Christianity...
Tricking people into believe is something the Devil did, not Jesus..
I have to agree with the majority of people that answered your question, please do not procreate, do not preach and do not represent those of us that are Christians as you are no example of the love of God....

That was evil to show them magic tricks and then tell them they would burn in hell. Jesus did not use magic tricks to heal the sick or make the blind to see. Scare tactics turn people away and God said "let people CHOOSE to serve him". He gave us freedom to choose him willingly (FREE WILL) and did not want us to choose under duress or coercion.

Scaring someone into a belief may not be belief in the right thing. Tell them why Jesus came to this earth. I don't think God would appreciate your approach to conversion. It has to be up to the individual once presented with the facts. Did you give them the facts or just try to scare them?

Yeah, that will get them - scare them into believing. The group of missionaries sponsored by my church risk their lives to share the Word of the Lord with others. Their lives are no joke. They inspire others with the Word of the Lord. They don't need any type of "magic". Nothing can compare to the miracles performed by Jesus.

I know when I was doing missionary work in Africa I used a no nonsense approach to this very problem by holding a gun to their head. I told them that you can do anything with Jesus and a little black magic on your side just like I did.

Yeah, magic tricks to show the power of Jesus. Sleight of hand, fake magic, trickery and lies. Excellent choice!

Try talking to them on an intelligent level rather than using gimmicks, tricks, and threats to practically TRICK them into conversion. I bet you'd find the quality of their conversion to be a great deal more genuine if your message had any merit.

That's not saving souls, it tricking people and scaring them. It isn't teaching them to believe in what you believe, and just because you think it's right doesn't mean that it is. That was a seriously stupid question.
