Your best bet would be to undertake training in that regard. May I suggest the armed forces of your country? It kind of sounds like their job description. Talk to a local recruiter and see what your options are.

By doing the Thing that make the difference between the Live pilot and the dead one!......which is:

1-Breifing before the mission.and planning...knowing where the threat is...what kind..Aircrafts...AAA...SAM.....range...capabilities...envelops...drawbacks...advantages...terrain...a ridge here.. a mountain here...

2-Situational awareness!...when you get a missile launch in the RWR....from any dirction....immediatly try to visualy locate it...and track it...in the first few seconds...lets say..you are flying over enemy territory and a SAM launch screams in your cockpit and master caution Lights...flash ..and ...your heart beat accelerates........first...you use the RWR...to locate where is the general direction of the threat...and you look at it.....ah..its a missile.....so...the intelligence breife mentioned that the kind of missiles here is radar homing missile......you have to locate it first before the white trail is gone by the booter is gone off......so...be quick!!!....then it is a radar locking sam.....and it is 3 oclock...so...keep on turning to it..and try to stabilize it there in the 3 oclock....while dispensing the chaff flare dispencer....
if you see the missile ..leading you..and ..then...you are pulling too much!.....if the missle is still in the 3 oclock...then it will not hit you!!!.......if it goes through the clouds of flare an chaf u made and still heading for u...make the last ditch maneuver,,,,...get your plane as accute as poosible towards the missile!!!!....

2-Maximize your Advantages...and Minimize the threats one......you fly F-18....and a SU27..is attacking you...from 6 oclock...then u have no time,,,,,u KNOW....THAT your turn rate is highre than the su27 at this speed...then u brake untill u can do a high break turn rate....and get out of the hot zone...always look at your threat....if he tries...to go right as you did.....watch is wing tips....as soon as he moves his wings like you do.....reverse your motion in the other direction,......keeping this stuff is effective.....

3- Knowledge is power.........know the enemy and know yourself!!!!
