There are 4 essential vaccinations; distemper, hardpad, leptospirosis and parvovirus. If your dog is 15 months old he is due for his first annual booster, but the vet needs to see the certificate of vaccination from when he was a pup (@ 8 - 12 weeks.) If you don't have that, you have to start over.
There are 2 optional vaccinations, kennel cough and tetanus. You can ask the vet about these.

The injections that he had as a pup will have been for distemper, parvo and others so he should be ok. The only thing that your dog will not have had is for kennel cough as they don't seem to give it to pups, you will need this doing if you are going to put him in kennels for any reason. Just remember to keep on top of the yearly booster which as you probably know by now you will have to see your vet about. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't worry so much about this. If you can't reach his mate then I would take him to the vet and explain your concerns. I am sure he or she will know what to do. Sometime you can give the dog a second shot if you're not sure if he had the first and even if he has, it probably will not hurt him. AND.. perhaps you can find out what vet he went to previousely and they would have his records and could tell you what vaccinations he has had and which ones he has not. Good Luck!

If he has had all his injections the original owner should have some sort of written record like a treatment chart. You should have been given that which would have told you what he had had and when. Dogs need an annual booster anyway, so you should be aware of when that should be. If you have no record then the best thing is to have them all done again.

take it to the vet and tell them your concerns, the dog needs a 5in1 shot that covers the distemper, parvo, parinfluenza,DHLPP vaccination bordetella and it also needs a seperate vaccination for rabies. the vaccinations should be kept up annually after the first set of shots.

Ya, I agree with everyone about going to the vet but- You need his old vet records so you know what hes had or not- dogs don't need shots every year, especially when they grow older...it actually puts stress on their systems in old age. I worked at a vet clinic/dog grooming/dog boarding business for 5 years....

Did he take him to the vet for his vaccinations? If not, you might want to do that, especially for rabies.
If he took him to the vet, most likely he's current on all the required shots - not sure where you live but you might consider Lyme's vaccine if he's outdoors a lot.
I agree with the others - call your vet and discuss it, it doesn't hurt to be sure.

Please wait until the mate comes back from holiday. Over vaccination is really becoming a big problem and dogs are suffering for it. Vaccines are good for many, many years.
