Bananas are usually eaten regularly, after each meal, to ensure that there is no constipation. I dont think it's the bananas that are causing the constipation in your child. Maybe they are, because you've given them unripe to her. Is she drinking enough water? Do the following: Let her not drink water just before, during or just after meals. Let her drink water (plenty of it) at least half an hour after meals. Let her drink water even inbetween meals. Let her eat more fruits. Bananas are good and continue them. Let them be ripe enough - not green. If the problem persists then consult doc.

Blueberries are very good for maintaining a healthy bowel movement schedule. Blackberry juice is also something you could try, for children especially. My daughter is three, and these are remedies from my mother-in-law, but they worked wonders. A question though, why only bananas? Is your child picky? Blueberries really work wonders, but if you need relief now, add some blackberry juice to any other juice, and it will help relieve constipation almost immediately. Good luck. My youngest daughter also went through this. Try to avoid giving her green bananas.

I've never heard of bananas making a person constipated but to alliviate constipation, try giving her a small amount of diluted prune juice. Worked like a charm on my kids.

First of all give her an assurance that its okay, not to make it hard on herself.
Give her more soups containing spinach.
Add mango to her diet.
Give her water containing fruits, like all melons, potatoes, and a certain kind of bananas ( small in size)
