I certainly favour it in pronunciation - it really helps get across your sentiment in the spoken word... In fact it's practically onomatopoeic - with text speak - give it a few years it'll be an official spelling in the dictionary. So in answer - YES! It definitely has my vote. Good question!

I don't like any bad spelling - and I do not really like the shortened versions of anything for computers or especially text messages. Teach everyone to spell properly and then once they have passed the test - then they can go on to the fun things.
Boring, I know - but some really clever people can't spell (and apparently don't know how to use a spell-check) and I find it embarrassing for them.
Bad spelling lets you down!
