i am currently studying at a college abroad and i just finished my final exam for this semester. the next semester will be open at 11 September. unfortunately i have booked the ticket for 24 september. i dun wan to spend extra money to chnage it. wat do you think the best reason for absenteism i make??

I would contact the professor and tell them the truth: that you can't afford the change in airfare, but would like some materials to work with during those two weeks so you don't get badly behind. If you know anyone in the class maybe they could tape record materials for you too. IMO the truth is always the best answer.

you COULD just tell them "Hey, i booked the ticket for the wrong day on accident." I'm almost positive that you're not the only person who's done that. If that doesn't work, you could just tell them that

the truth. call the office at the school and tell them you booked a later flight on accident, and you wont be able to start until whenever. if you cant make up the missing work, then i suggest you spend the extra money.

You better check the rules; a lot of schools will drop you if you don't show up in the first few days of class.

Change the ticket. The only defense in this case is stupidity and I don't think you want to us that as an excuse.

just say u had personal issues. stick with that and if your professor doesnt accept it tell the truth. It usually works!!
