I told him that i liked him and apart from other things he said that, but we werent friends, we hookep up once after it things got complicated some problems went on and we didnt even talk, or see each other, them he went away ( not coming back so wont c him again) and i wrote him that and he answer that among other things..like distance etc....

Hes trying to let you down easy and really not hurt your feelings. He likes you alot but for whatever reason he can't be with you and he would if he could. (Personal experience here.)

A nice way of saying" you are not the one". I just went through this. It is a way to make him feel better. If you gave up the "sex" then it was a nice way of not making you feel used.

Cut your losses and move on. Especially since you won't be seeing him anytime soon. If he felt real feelings for you, he'd have come out and told you.

if he stays with you, you're gonna to discover something that would hurt you. possibly that he's married and is not gonna leave her. he's backing out of the relationship not because he wants to but because he has to for the fact that he doesn't want to hurt you emotionally.
