Do you want the truth or do you want to believe the standard American answer? Truth be told if you have dark skin or could be confused for Hispanic then the answer is no. Anglo society right now is not welcoming to anyone that speaks with an accent or has dark skin. They may not say it to your face but they make their feeling known by their actions. Now if you move to someplace like Miami, New York, Chicago, San Antonio or El Paso you will be welcome. If you plan to move someplace predominantly anglo you will be treated less friendly. Then again many Brazilians have light skin, so if you can speak clean English you could blend in well.

Absolutely! You're not breaking any rules. There are a lot of Brazilians in America. I know New York and New Jersey have a lot of them. I had a Brazilian girlfriend who was up in Harrison,NJ.Also the Ironbound district of Newark has a lot of your kind there.

Yes, you are welcome. You will find American's to be friendly, helpful and welcoming. There are always the idiots that have problems with immigrants, they don't have enough sense to know they are decendants of immigrants themselves. Just ignore those people. You will find them in every country. Enjoy our country, get to know the laws and customs/traditions here. If you don't speak English well, there are ESL classes you can take. Usually community education classes are the least expensive and some are free. Welcome to America!

Legally in the US, as in not hopping the borders and becoming a citizen? You'd be welcomed with open arms.

As long as you are legal yes.... We just dont appreciate those who come across the border illegally and take jobs away from those of us who are American citizens, collect welfare, add to the crime rate, and EXPECT us to cater to them.... I dont see why we have to select one to hear a recording in ENGLISH WHICH IS THE LANGUAGE WE SPEAK IN THIS COUNTRY!!!! Those who come here illegally and work only to send their money back to their own country rather than helping to build the economy and better this country, NEED TO LEAVE!!!!

Welcome by who? Why would you need a job offer? I know brazilians here who are not legal citizens, but own their own businesses and houses. I'm not saying that is right, but it seems you don't need anything legal to be here and work.

By Americans or by the American government? I won't pretend to know what it takes to become permitted to work in the US, but as far as other people go I think you'd be fine. There are jerks in every country, but we've got more than our share of good people too. :o)

Idiots are everywhere and US is not an exception. You will experience some prejudice but no more so than everybody else that will be around you. Remember, everybody is different in this country.
Other than that, you will be welcomed.... or should I say as welcomed as everybody else.
