Can anyone suggest any ideas on what I can do to decorate a wall in my living room?

I want to avoid the following:

Picture Frames (Such a hassle for me
Mirrors (Same reason.)
Scotched tape posters/pictures (Enough said.)

The wall is already painted.

Fabric. Murals. Shelving with accessories. Rod iron, old world rustic windows that have that beat up look.

Here are ten household helpful hints for choosing floor and wall covering fabrics to decorate your home:

1. Use fabrics to provide soundproofing in noisy rooms.

2. Curtains or blinds allow us to play with light.

3. Choose flooring like according to a room’s use.

4. Use tough floorings like marble, stone, or tiles where lots of people move about, especially if they have hard heels or dirty soles.

5. Use warm flooring like carpets or wood where you will walk barefoot.

6. Before choosing flooring, try and determine how it will look in the lighting of a room.

7. Take good care of your flooring to ensure it will last a long time.

8. Avoid paint in areas with heavy circulation. Tiles and marble are both washable and longer lasting.

9. When deciding on the flooring and the wall coverings remember just how much space they occupy and therefore how important they are.

10. Well-matched wall coverings and floorings can be mutually enhancing so it is best to select them at the same time.

feather paint or rag paint in a contrasting or monochromatic (same color scheme ie, light and dark ) or same kind of color with a metalic sheen to it.
get a big rubber stamp with a design you like on it and use paint instead of ink to stamp your wall in a cool pattern.

i'm not into 'hassle' things either and these are quite easy. my 6 year old granddaughter HELPED. she really did. it's that easy.

hang a nice rug on it - a persian carpet etc. It softens the room's feel helps the accustics for the stereo and adds some noise insulation as well.

Try a curtain with a pattern and color you like and hang it from floor to ceiling. Paint a big X in a contrasting color.
