Aspertame, which is found in Diet Soda.

Formaldehyde, also used to embalming cadavers, is found in ASPERTAME, the common sugar substitute found in diet soda and other diet foods such as low fat yogurt, etc.

Last I knew the components were hydrogen peroxide which is in the glass ampule, fluorescent dyes and either phenal oxalate ester or a mix of chemicals which will produce reaction with luminol and H2O2, ie ammonium carbonate and/or copper sulfate hydrate. Depends mainly on the manufacturer. It should be noted you can also do this with "toxic" chemicals too... but the general idea is a redox reaction with chemicals that emit light energy during the oxidation.

Formaldehyde has such a bad reputation...while most people focus on the bad effects it poses, they never stop to realize it's impecable preservation properties. It's never actually been proven that formaldehyde is a cancer causing agent; it's labelled as a "suspected carcinogen". It is also found in cigarettes, among about 4000 other nasty chemicals that we probably shouldn't ingest. I work with formaldehyde in high concentrations everyday at my job...one thing is for sure, i never get sick!

As a pathologist I lived in an atmosphere of formaldehyde for several hours a day for many years. It has done me no harm.

its illegal now, since it causes cancer. its prohibited to put in products anymore. dental enamel is ok because your teeth arent porous enough to let the chemical in your system.
