My son loves being outside and i'm wondering what activities I can participate in with my 20-month old son when the cooler weather starts, seeing as we will not be able to swim or go to the beach anymore!

You didn't specify what part of the country you are located, so hopefully these apply to you. Definitely go to some local parks. Go to your town's website and find a list of parks. Go to a new one every few days. Pick up leaves as they turn color. Gather lots of leaves and let him play in the big pile (tons of fun for everyone of all ages). The weather being cooler, it is a good time to learn to ride trike or similar. Go for walks by the beach - still very pretty even in the fall. If you beach allows, build a small fire (keeping your son close) and roast marshmellows and make smores! Take him to your local YMCA or public indoor pool and get him started in swim lessons. If you have pumpkin growers nearby, take him to the pumpkin patch and let him pick a pumpkin! Or, if they have corn mazes, take him thru those (they may have a small one for little folks too!). Enjoy the fall with your baby!!

Oh, put a jacket on him sweety! Take walks in the park, in the forest...look at leaves and different colors and let him play at the park. When it snows, put a bunting on him and pull him in a sled. Let him eat white snow. Make snowbals and then make a little pile of snowballs. Or a snowman...how about digging up worms in the fall? Show him the wonder of bugs! Do some finger painting...try play dough...omg...the fun never ends! Dance! show baby how to! Be a kid yourself...get some wood blocks to stack...get some really fly matchbox cars and play on the kitchen floor!

Check around your area for pumpkin patches, I used to take my kids to those when they were little. Also look for petting zoos, or heck, even the city zoo. Our community has a wonderful petting zoo that has all sorts of animals, many that the children can feed themselves. They also do hay rides, and there's a lovely playground as well. There's lots of fun activities that you can do outdoors, and the weather's perfect in the fall, not too hot, and not too cold!

Take him to the park, pack a nice picnic lunch perhaps. You can go to your local recreational center too and play miniature golf. When it gets more windy out you can buy some kites and do some sailing! Lots of things are possible; even raking up leafs into a big pile when the trees start changing and jump in them!

Depending on where you are, berry picking begins about late September. Very fun for kids. So is apple picking. Also, hayrides and going on trails is great because your little guy can do a lot of exploring and has the freedom of movement without worry.

the terrific ingredient may be to scout out community loose issues which you or the nanny can do with him. case in point, examine the community library for a toddler interpreting time. pass to the library and take a seat and study books with him. inspect nature preserves and historic parks on your section. The interpretive centers may be stepped forward for him yet you could practice him rather some issues which incorporate bugs, bugs, diverse hats, and garments of the time. pass to parks the two indoor and outdoor. Being around teenagers would be the main academic ingredient he can do. inspect zoo's and arboretums to instruct him diverse animals, vegetation, colours, etc. between the flaws I do with my 22 month old is pass on a walk via a wooded area (secure of direction) and practice her diverse bugs, wood, leafs, vegetation, birds, and animals. pass exterior and clarify to him the sky, issues interior the sky, the grass, assemble leaves, pinecones, etc. in actuality, attempt to keep in mind that there is a international exterior your abode which would be much less high priced, low priced, and maximum critically, academic!

When I was little I use to love it when my mom raked up the leaves in a big pile and then she let me jump in them and play. It was a blast. You could also take him on walks and point out the way the trees are changing.

Get him a bat and a soft ball and practice baseball! I did that with my two year old the other day. I aimed for the bat and boy she thought she was SOMETHING! Get him a tricycle. Go look for bugs. Oh, there are just oodles of things to do!

Rake up leaves and let him jump in them. Collect colorful falling leaves and make a scrapbook of them. Go to the park and let him feed the ducks.
