From my understanding, Muslims like Christians, treat other religions that believe in God like brothers and sisters, except that to put it simply, those that do not believe in the teachings of Islam and convert are at risk of going to hell. Another similarity to Catholicism, is that Muslims are not allowed to force converstion on anyone since they too believe that God gave us free will to act on it on our own accord.
There are several excellent links on the view of Christianity on Islam, however, I do not have any on Islamic views on Christianity.
Having lived in the Middle East and being a Catholic Christian myself, I have found that TRUE Muslims are amazing people who are also generous, peaceful and caring. Try googling Catholic Apologists and look up "Islam" or "Muslim".
Make sure too that you learn as much as you can about Catholicism too before you learn about other religions. The reason I say this is because there are many, many anti-Catholic sites that do nothing but spread misconceptions and lies that can damage your faith if you know little enough to believe them.

What does Islam say about Christianity?
Islam teaches that Christians and Muslims are both "people of the book." By that it means that the two religions share the same basic beliefs articulated through the Bible and the Koran. The main difference between Christians and Muslims is that Muslims do not believe that Jesus was the son of God. Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet who was granted special powers by God to show people the power of God.

Muslims believe Christians are the people of the "book" (meaning the bible) but teach that Christians have gone astray and departed from the "true religion" of Islam. Muslims claim a belief in the bible but yet deny what the bible teaches of Jesus as the Son of God who died for the sin of the world and offers eternal life to whomever believes.
People should see the obvious contradictions in this. For one, they claim to believe in the gospels but when presented with what is said in the gospels and it conflicts with Islam, they simply say Christians and Jews corrupted the bible and that the Quran is the true word of God.
The other contradiction is that since there is no history of Islam pre-Mohammad, it is senseless to claim that Christians departed from the true religion of Islam since Mohammad invented Islam some 600 years after the establishment of Christianity.
Muslims claim that Jesus was a Muslim but can't explain that if that were true, then why was Christianity the predominate religion that proceeded from Christ rather then Islam?
Another observation is that if Jesus and the apostles were supposedly Muslims, then history would have reflected that to be so yet we see nothing of Jesus ever teaching that there is no God but Allah and that Mohammad is his prophet. No teachings of praying five times a day facing Mecca. No teaching of throwing rocks at Satan and making a pilgrimage to Mecca at least one time in their lifetime. No teachings of anything of the five pillars of Islam. On and on it goes yet Muslims still make all these outrageous claims.

You want to know what Islam teaches about Christians? It's so beautiful. We have in Surah al-Maaidah, the fifth chapter of Holy Quran these verses :
82. ....and certainly you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and because they do not behave proudly.
83. And when they hear what has been revealed to the messenger you will see their eyes overflowing with tears on account of the truth that they recognize; they say: Our Lord! we believe, so write us down with the witnesses (of truth). (5.82-83)
As a Muslim, I consider those people who have sincere faith towards God, keep his love in their hearts and live pure lives for his sake, my brothers, no matter they are Muslim, Christian or Jew ....... We all love One God, and that is enough.

first of all whynotaskdon does not know what he is talking about he obviously got his info from a anti islamic site!
I am a muslim and have completed the quran in arabic and read the proper english translation which was translated by honoured muslim teachers, and i can tell you right now the quran says no such thing! Here is what islam teaches about christians and other religons (and im writing this word for word out of one of my islamic books):
A muslim believes in all books sent by almighty allah. The four famous books are:
A- TORAH (old testament) sent to Nabi Moosa (alayhis salaam)
B- ZABOOR (book of psalms) sent to Nabi Dawood (alayhis Saaam)
C- BIBLE sent to nabi Isa (alayhis salaam) - nabi isa alayhis sallam is jesus
D- QURAN - sent to our Nabi Muhammed (sallal laahu alahi wasallam)
The Torah Zaboor and bible are still found in the world today but they have been changed by the jews and the christians, nothing has changed in the holy quran it is still the same as when our Nabi Muhammed (sallal laahu alahi wasallam) because almighty Allah himself has promised to protect the Holy Quran.
Because muslims once followed the torah Zaboor and bible before they were changed, muslims must respect all people following these Holy books, for disrespecting them and their holy book would be just as disrespecting our own prophets and their teachings, they must be treated with respect along with your fellow muslim brothers and sisters, for they too believe in one god!
We believe that jesus had a miracle birth, we believe he was put on the cross and we believe that he will come back on judgement day, we do not however believe that he is the son of god and that he died on the cross we belive god can have no son and he was lifted from the cross in to heaven, this is where the beliefs of christians and muslims differ.
So basically we have to treat christians jews etc with respect.

see element # 10 Why you're able to have self belief the Bible and since the Bible is actual, then you definately could have self belief in God,because of the fact the Bible speaks of Him present. it somewhat is predicated on the historic previous of the King James 1611AV Bible. different variations (233 different variations on the industry), ALL are shown to be from corrupt MSS (manuscripts). a million. It would not call for blind faith. For faith to be of any value, it is going to be in accordance with information, on certainty. 2. historical historic previous helps the Bible's accuracy. 3. Muslims feel sorry for the Christians who honestly believe in God because the Christians have been mislead and lied to about some important laws of God. and I notice that alot of Christians have closed their minds and their hearts to other religions.
That said, I do believe there are many hypocrites in all religions including me. There is no half way when it comes to God. Alot of people say they believe in God but at the same time do the wrong things. I think its very wrong to act like you believe in God.
No matter what religion one follows. God knows all that you do and what you dont do. It seems people say they believe in one God but we dont believe in one human race.

Islam teaches that Jesus was a prophet, not the messiah or god
for much of history, Muslims lived peacefully with Jews and Christians because they were all "people of the book"

If I remember correctly, the Koran says to regard Christians and Jews as brothers in the truth. Of course, not all Muslims think this way, but it's there.

We believe that jesus is the Messiah
We believe that in the immaculate conception
We believe he performed miracles
We believe he ascended into heaven
We believe he will return again
however we cannot accept that god became a man and was flogged by his creation.
in the qur'an God refers to christians and jews as People of the Book. This is because he gave them the scripture but unfortunately they have gone astray.
Why do you deny muhammad when he is foretold in the torah/old and new testament?
God says in the qur'an that he sent Jesus as a prophet. Unfortunately christianity was influenced by greek and roman methology to form the god man
