I'm 23 always feel the urge to stretch my back and neck seemingly without any purpose. I've had this problem for some years. People usually don't notice it but some do. Does it work if I try not to do it for a long time? Has anyone ever managed to get rid of a tic? Are there any possible natural remedies for tics?

Tic's are caused by nerves that are being pinched. The best remedy is a Chiropractor. I do not know how you treat your body, but if you sit with your legs crossed it could throw your lower spine out of alignment and cause you all sorts of problems.

If you sleep in a position that places a strain on your neck, that could cause you all sorts of problems.

Muscle spasms that can sometimes be quite painful, occur when nerves are pinched.
Sometimes it is chronic and will recur without notice.

If you are under stress, or you have a nervous condition, that could also cause tics to occur.

There is a supplement: "Varerian" that you take before you go to sleep, that may help your condition.

Consider all of the possibilities and above all, pay close attention to your posture and the way you sit in a chair.

Stretching your muscles is a good thing, because it tends to relieve pressures.

When I get stressed out, I get a muscle spasm in my right eye. I get rid of it by de-stressing, and taking my mind off it... I treat it like the hiccups. And it goes away.
