I LOVE Italian food :-) I am also a Mystery Shopper, which means that I evaluate quite a few restaurants for a living... Here are my suggestions:
Casual Italian: Hornero located on Yonge Street just south of Wellesley. They have Awesome Stone Fired Hand Made Pizzas and wicked Penne Al La Vodka (not on the menu, just ask...) Price ranges are about $10 per pizza and the same for the Penne. Most dishes are under $20

Upscale Italian: Sotto Sotto Located on Avenue Road just North of Bloor Street. It has a wonderful date atmosphere. The Prices are a little more expensive but the food is very good. Check out the whole menu at the website.
