I don't know and I'm a woman. I think the older women get, the more insecure they are. So when someone asks her age it makes them feel crappy. Also, I believe it stems back to the Victorian era, where it was considered to rude to ask just about anything about a lady. Who knows. Just don't ask women how old they are to keep yourself safe.

There's no big deal, women are just more sensitive about their age once they pass 30, their bodies change a lot and we go through menopause...there's just not a lot to look forward to after a certain age for some women. Sure, everyone ages as they're supposed to, men are just not as sensitive about it, that's all. Personally, I don't care. I'm not quite 30 yet, but when you're born, you're gonna die, so I just enjoy life as it comes. I feel blessed with each new day I'm presented...It's way too short to worry with how old I am. You're as young as you wanna be (in your mind).

Some women view it the same as asking her weight. They consider it rude. Why?
I guess they want you to think they're younger then they are.
I've always told my sons, now grown, that if a woman asks you to guess her age, figure what you think her age is in your mind and then take off 5 years, she'll be thrilled.
I guess women know that men are always attracted to younger women so they don't want you thinking they're old(er).
Younger women, pre-30's, don't mind so much because they're still quite young. I think an older woman wants you to evaluate her on her life skills and accomplishments, not how old she is.
By that stage of her life, age is irrelevant, and she may feel that you making your assessment about her on her age not her life experience.

Because that typically means the person asking wants to "evaluate" if you look good for your age or bad for your age. Do you want a woman asking how much money you make a year? Same idea, it's about "evaluating."
It's much better to get to know a person gradually than to pepper them with lots of questions.
I tell my accurate age and people are always surprised - I'm told I look much younger.
It's really a nosey question overall, just be concerned if she's legal or not.

Some men don't like being asked their age either. I believe its because we associate a person being mature with age. If their too old then one might think they may be a stick in the mud...to young meaning they are immature...
I guess we dont want to be judged by our age.

Because women are very age conscious. They have the ideaology of getting older means they are out of the market of value. They don't realize that older women are fantastic lovers and don't play the head games that alot of younger women do. Not all but some

because women are mysterious, and if they are younger or older than you than you might not take them seriously...and if they are too young or too old to be flirting with you, keeping the age a secret would be a good way to 'keep the game going'....i don't like telling my age to people because the guys are usually a few years older than me. i have always hung with an older crowd, and thus the guys i know are off limits...darn!

Okay its rude, like asking your weight or peter size or did you drop out of high school? On that same level- got it?
You can ask with out getting a number- okay. SOME TIPS They all require some basic math on your part.
What year did you graduate high school? Duh 16, 17 or 18
Do you remember which president you voted for and which term was it? She was 18 or 19 for that one.
Do you want to have kids or do you have any and what are their ages and so when did you have them? Okay that requires some math, add kids age to mom's age and get current age.
There ya go.... play nice and if any guy asked my age. I politely share my ability to "high kick" that I perfected at age 15 to their backside.
