There are a bunch of websites that have information pertaining to death rates and the statistics of what the top causes of death are...

http://www.benbest.com/lifeext/causes.html (has some great graphs showing motor vehicle death rates in comparison to other ways of traveling)

http://www.aspenflyingclub.com/safeto.htm (general aviation statistics of death and accidents)

http://www.fearless-flight.com/flight-safety/statistics.php (this page actually states that you are at higher risk of death driving to the airport than you are in the actual airplane)

Hope this helps!

Here's a link to the NTSB website that shows several charts with air travel statistics, both commercial and private.

http://www.ntsb.gov/aviation/Stats.htm

Here's an "odds of dying" chart...don't know how useful it is
http://www.nsc.org/lrs/statinfo/odds.htm

This last one may be your best bet, looks like it has charts for all modes of travel
