I really don't hate liberals, I just wanted to grab some attention. I also wanted to test out a theory. What I can't stand are the hedenistic, those who follow their own desires rather than living a life a self-denial. Godless or not, those who don't satisfy their every need are better people than those who are. They are also better thinkers and benefit society. Start your answer with penguins or I won't even read it. I don't know how people get up if they are only living for themselves. I see it every day on the TV and in government. Just a few decades ago, democrats and republicans dissagreed, but they got along because they all wanted to help the country. What happened? That's what I want to know. When did America stop caring about eachother?

The real question is not liberals vs conservative, but rather "when did America (because not everyone is from America) become so polarized there is no room left for middle ground"? When did the echoes of the Civil War start stirring so strongly that we have "Red States" and "Blue States"?
Apathy, not hatred, is weakening America's soul. When the hell did we get to the point we can condemn another human being as an "abomination" or "illegal" or "un-American" without blinking an eye? Because the moment you can classify another human with a label that does not include you ("liberal", "atheist", "neo-con", "criminal"), then you have allowed yourself to be apathetic to the real issues that human being faces simply by being human. It allows you to morally condemn the other person rather than turn that critical eye on your own selfish and self-serving actions. Therein lies the true danger... the moment you say, "it's not my problem" and turn on the tv to forget about it you are part of the problem.

People who live for themselves are typically republicans. Isn't that the party that wants to cut social spending for the needy and poor? Whenever a Republican takes office it seems that the first thing they do is cut all the social programs that are set up to help the disabled, the poor, and the veterans. All while they give themselves tax breaks. This doesn't seem to help the country and seems to follow your question about who is living for themselves.

In my life I have learned that I am much happier if I share what I have (albeit sometimes it is only knowledge about a subject or a smile for someone who is down)......I try not to worry about what others are doing with their lives and just be the best person I can be by loving and sharing.............Take care.........

Hate, hate, hate! Thats all I ever hear from Republicans and conservatives. It is such a sick, evil emotion. How did it start? I think it started with talk radio, drug addled fools like Rush Limbaugh and people who for some reason find his drug induced delusions to be compelling political insights. Hate sells, unfortunately. It has turned Americans against each other just when we need to unite.
