I am Pagen and some people think that all that means is I believe in witchcraft. I believe in a higher power and I think that just believing in something should be what matters. Just because my religon celibrates nature more than a "God" does that make it wrong? Why?

i am also pagan and i feel the same way. and i think having faith in something, anything, is what matters. but, being that i'm pagan, i also believe "an it harms none, do what ye will" so i don't approve of people pushing their beliefs on other people. people fear what they don't understand. some religions insist that they are the true believers and the rest of us will rot in hell. well, i don't believe in hell, so now what? as long as you are a moral person, isn't that enough?

I am a very good, decent person. I give, help and offer advice to all those who need it. I never pick on them, or steal, or hurt others. I am an atheist. I don't need the bible to tell me how I should be. I am a good person because I want to be, and I know that it is the right thing to do.

I have met many other Christians who
lie
cheat
steal
kill
have adulteries and affairs
etc.
I have seen a man in prison gripping a Bible. When he got released, he killed a man 2 weeks later, but he was still a very devoted Christian.

Your religion does not make you a better or worse person, and if you are feeling insecure about your religion than maybe it is not the right religion for you. I am christian, and I believe paganism (is that how you say it?) is wrong, but If you believe it, you should not worry about it. maybe you should look into some other religions and then see how you feel, remember just because your parents or friends believe it doesn't mean you have to.

I think that your religion should be more respected because it does celebrate nature. Most people frown on it just because it was a religion very much practiced in societies that were very "primitive" and you are thought of as mentally inferior. But the fact that you seem to care about your beliefs more than a lot of so-called Christians and you are not trying to impose them on some other person shows that you must be more mature than the rest of our society.

Nothing wrong with celibrating nature - I do so myself :)

I think what matters is how we think and act - spirituality is personal, I don't think any two people will experience the Creator the same way

Romans 1:25 - Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

No not at all the way you are and the way you act makes you who you are. Every religion want you to believe what they believe To me there is no one religion. Belief is an individual think just being a good person is enough.

No, it only makes you a bad person in the eyes of bad people who cannot accept others.

I have no problem with Pagans. I am an atheist and consider myself to be a good person. The funny thing is, many "Christians" label me as bad. In fact, if you ever watch Morgan Spurlock's 30 days, one guy considers atheists as communists.

being a good person makes you a good person. being a bad person makes you a bad person. your religion does not matter.

however, open-mindedness does matter. people's willingness to accept those that are different, and love them just the same. people's appreciation for life, love and nature. their thirst for knowledge. their kindness. their hard work. their drive. their passion. etc. those are the things that make people better or worse.

and yet ... i do find that some political/religious issues *are* a turn-off for me, when i see them in others. but that could just be me.

with as many religions that are out there, what you believe in make you who you are and you should be proud of that....everyone will always have something negative to say to someone else that believe differently then them...that doesn't make you a bad person at all...you keep believing in what you believe and don't change for anyone...they all have their own beliefs and so should you
