I'M NOT!! ok i don't act goth i don't act goth why do people call me goth?? is there something i am missing here? i dont have anything against goth or anything its just not my ting or culture whatever you want to call it. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME, HOW DO I MAKE THEM UDERSTAND THAT I AM NOT GOTH?!?

I had people call me goth all the time just tell them that the definition for goth is: A member of a Germanic people who invaded the Roman Empire in the early centuries of the Christian era.
Just tell them you look..dark haha. I just told them my fav. color was black and that is what i wore mostly, and i also like dark eye liner, but that doesn't make me goth or emo w/e.

Stop acting goth and people won't think you are goth.
If people are calling you Goth, then you are some how giving them the impression you are Goth. Are you wearing all your bright colored Gap clothes and people look at you and say Goth?
The other thing is, it doesn't matter what people call you because those people who call you Goth aren't your friends anyway, so don't worry about it.

some people might think you are a goth not by how you act but what you wear, also alot of people like to get to you, even if they know your not a goth they may say it just because they know it bothers you. you can just laugh it off and tell them to think what ever they want to think. but in the end you are your oun person. who cares what others think about you. if your in high school or even jr. high. after school none of this will even matter, just live out you shool experianse to the fullest. Or you will just regret it after its over with.

I agree, i'm not a 'goth' either. It is a stereotype. Just ignore them.
This is a perfect example of sterotyping:
signs that your gothic
1. dyed black hair
2. Listen to angry music < -------- Not all 'goths' listen to angry music, try looking up abney park or siouxsie and the banshees
3. cheap dark clothing <--------- There's hot topic and a bunch of other stores that sell high quality clothing
4. dark make up <------- Not always, some add a splash of color
5. hangs with other goths <----------- Some also hang out with the emo, rap, and country kids
6. hates god <------ NO wrong again

There must be something you are doing that associates you with GOTH. What's so wrong with that?
Don't want to be called GOTH? Wear white hippie clothes and dye your hair another color other than Black, Blue or Purple.

If you don't listen to GOTHIC MUSIC, then you are NOT a GOTH.
Of course, that doesn't mean that people who listen to gothic music ARE goth...it's really adopting the whole package...
But I guarantee that there isn't a single goth in the world who would call you a goth. :)
(And it has nothing to do with you being a blonde...)

If your talking about on answers people call you goth then change your name from bat girl, but if your talking about your friends or at school, then just wear something like a bright color with something with like jeans, and then put a bright color lip stick on when you are around them.

Of course you're not Goth. The gothic era ended over a hundred years before your birth.
Easy way to deal with it, look at them, smile, and tell them you love your life and love daisies.

Ask them what makes them think you are goth. If they say "because you wear black sometimes," and you do sometimes wear black, say; "Oh, so everybody who wears black sometimes is goth? I didn't know that." Anyway, why do you care whether somebody thinks you are "goth"? Do they think you are Visigoth or Ostrogoth? Do you have any gothic ancestors? Or do they mean you are inspiring and uplifting like a gothic cathedral?

Why do you care what other people think? **** them. Do your thing. You obviously haven't been to college. In college, people don't care what you look like or how you dress, it's all personality. At this point in your life you will realize that your personality is all that matters, and that you will make friends that have the same characteristics as you.
The other stuff doesn't matter. So stop whining about it.
