Well in all religions it's highly a great issue to look after parents especially when they get old
I hope I'm a good son but the thing is most parents -not only mine- when they get angry they don't say what is really bugging them ok we sons aren't angles after all but from many stories, people who has parents who weather treated them well/not well I see the main problem is parents like hide things
Why is this behavior I believe if parents say the things why exactly it bothers them many problems wont even occur

a man had a mam with one eye making him haveing some sort of psychological probelem he hated her and did not treat her well when she died he found a letter from her telling that the other eye she gave it to him because of an accedent he faced when he was young what would of happen if she told him this before

sometimes parents think that you don't knwo there is a problem... and os they won't bring it up thinking they are saving face. and others don't mention it because that is just how that individual copes with anger.. is to bottle it all up inside.. not heathly choice. but still a choice.

What I think you're asking is why do older parents keep things from their adult children? Because parents, no matter how old they are or their children are, still want to protect their children from bad things happening to them, and something happening to your parent is a bad thing. Older people also have a fear of losing their independence.

I think this behavior happened in the past.
Nowadays, parents tell directly:
- You should do the dishes after eating
- You must be home by 10pm
- You should not marry her / him
- ...
