I do work at computers 6 days a week and I also have played piano for about 14 years so I'm thinking carpal tunnel but hopefully doc will know today when I go in I've been checked for arthritis 2 months ago and they said it wasn't that.

Water retention can cause discomfort in your fingers, but it usually will be in all of the fingers, not just one in each hand. You may have arthritis, carpal tunnel, or some kind of nerve damage going on. There are a lot of causes for what you are describing. I would go to a rheumatologist. Good luck to you.

Yes, especially with circulatory impairment. First of all have her see a doctor pronto. This could just be dependent edema, or swelling, or could be heart failure. Have her elevate her legs anytime she is sitting in a chair, avoid standing for long periods, and raise the foot of the mattress on her bed (this can best be accomplished by putting a rolled blanket between the mattress & box springs at the foot of her bed - works better than trying to elevate legs on pillows) so her legs will be elevated while in bed. She should also limit salt & foods high in sodium (cured or processed meats; canned soups; frozen dinners or entrees; chips, crackers, etc). Most important: see a doctor!! Good luck.

Do you type of use a computer? You may have a repetitive injury problem or carpal tunnel syndrome. In both hands would be unusual, though. I have never seen fluid retention do it.

sounds a bit like carpal tunnel syndrome, is it worse first thing in the am. fluid retention can cause swelling in the small spaces your nerves pass through your wrists. try running wrists under cold water. is your neck sore/decreased movement. it could be a neck problem. get it checked out by a physio/doctor
