Job 38:1-21(NIV)
1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the storm. He said: 2 "Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge? 3 Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.
4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. 5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? 6 On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone-- 7 while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? 8 "Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, 9 when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, 10 when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, 11 when I said, 'This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt'?
12 "Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place, 13 that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?

14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment. 15 The wicked are denied their light, and their upraised arm is broken. 16 "Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep? 17 Have the gates of death been shown to you? Have you seen the gates of the shadow of death? 18 Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this. 19 "What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside? 20 Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings? 21 Surely you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years!

i think God is trying to say to people who don't believe in him, "If you know so much, i'll come down there some time and you can tell me what you know. since you know so much, i mean, and were around to see all of this when it was happening."

It demonstrates why the "science" of the Bible is no more based in reality than the "science" of Greek or Norse mythology.
Where is this great foundation that the Earth rests upon or the gates that hold back the sea? Generations of Christians and Jews believed that they literally existed.

It shows that the bible surely cannot be the inspired word of a "supreme" being if this "supreme" being has a lower than second grade understanding of basic cosmology and geology. Also, what kind of god would need to brag like this to a human, who compared to him is an insect? It would be like me being interested in impressing a moth. Truly, christianity is a silly pile of gobbledygook that falls apart at a mere touch from reason.

John a million:3 even as God create , He made something from not something; for we are His created beings. We in ordinary words exist because God made us. Jesus Christ is God; Deity is the in ordinary words reason behind all that Jesus became, and all that Jesus did. Jesus became pre-existent with the daddy. [ John a million:a million-3; 17:5; Colossians a million:17] Jesus became became sinless, as in ordinary words God could be [ John 8:40 six; a million Peter 2:21-22]

The book of Job show us that no mater what satan tries to do to our bodies, he cannot touch the soul of those who accepted Jesus as our savior and believe in God and obey's His laws.
satan took everything away from Job,but he could not break his faith in God. That is what we are to learn from the book of Job. No matter what we go through in life. As Christians we do not go through life and it's trials along.
Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Job showed us this. Prasie the Lord!!

It is a basic lesson in humility. Mankind has a tendency of becoming complacent and boastful about our own goodness. We can never question God's motives.

i think it reminds us to remain humble and remember God is God. It also reminds us that nothing is impossible for God and why have doubt when we pray that He is capable.
