I have kind of poofy/frizzy/ wavy hair. I have always blowdried it. Is this okay? Some people told me that I shouldn't blowdry it because it makes it more poofy. Is this true? If so what should I do? If I let it airdry it is more poofy than if I blow dry it! I am confused!!! Help!

Blow drying can help with the poofyness if it's done right. First be sure you're going in the direction of the cuticle to prevent flyaways & frizzies. Try sectioning your hair off, start with a small section at the nape of your neck & work your way up. Use a ceramic round brush & LIGHTLY pull your hair straight as you dry your hair. You could even apply a small amount of an oil sheen or a defrizzing agent to help keep your hair smooth.

Blowdrying your hair can really damamge it. I suggest in the summer time to let it air dry and in the winter time to blowdry it. If you think your hair becomes too poofy, then try flat ironing it afterwards. If you're worried about damage from that, then get a ceramic/tourmaline flat iron. The best brand that I have tried is the SEDU. It makes my hair pin straight (not poofy whatsoever), shiny, and silky. You can also do curls with the 1" (however I use the 1 1/2"). You should get one from www.folica.com. That's the cheapest you will find. And..if you don't like it, you can always return it within 30 days, but you will LOVE it (trust me).

The frizzy condition of your hair can be corrected by the kind of shampoo and conditioner that you apply. Also, I suggest that you blowdry your hair completely. The problem with some people is that they do not blowdry their hair completely and therefore, their hair ends up being frizzy and odd looking. Use Matrix Sleek Look shampoo and conditioner. I am sure you will be happy with the results.

Use an ionic hair dryer. It eliminates most poof. I suggest using a shampoo and or conditioner for dry or damaged hair when you blow dry. it keeps the hair in better shape. I know exactly what you are talking about, I have the same issue. Try to to wash your hair every day too( I know it is hard to do and kinda nasty), but it will let your hair get some natural oils to keep it in good shape.

I have thick, wavy hair too and it never looks as good when I style it at home as it does when I get it done at the salon...mostly because I'm usually in a rush and the stylist takes at least a 1/2 hour to get my hair straight and smooth. He uses a blowdryer and big round brush, and *lots* of product, then finishes off with a flatiron.

ok i have an answer for u that is very simple. whoeevre these people are that are telling u to not blow dry ur hair cuz it makes it more pooffy... they obviously dont know wut they are talking about. if u wanna keep that poof out and dont wanna flat iron then use the blow dryer. just when u use it make sure that when ur drying u aim the dryer downward. never blow the hair upward cuz this is what makes the hair poof. its lifting and raising the cuticle layer of the hair causing that poof. and if u can use shine spray. it flattens the hair shaft. dont use to much tho cuz it will give ur hair an oil dirty look.

Blow dry will Sleek and shine by fruitces and a vent brush, and the affect of blow drying depends on the type of hair and the speed and heat of the blow dryer.

Wrap your hair ----which means while your hair is wet comb your hair in a circle and until all the hair is in a smooth circle. Make sure the roots of your hair are smooth before combing the ends of your hair over them. This may take a friend to help depending on the length of your hair or it just may be fun for your friend to help anyway.
