1 gallon = 8.345 lbs
There are 128 oz in a gallon. So,

8.345 pounds / 128 oz = .0651953125 pounds per ounce

Multiply that by 12 for the answer to your question above.

1 gallon = 128 oz.

12 oz of water weighs...
(8.345405 / 128) * 12 = 0.7824 lbs.
