No, you will just end up resenting each other. Not to mention, you say he's really nice. He deserves someone who really likes him then. (I'm not saying anything bad about you) You seem to care about him, so the most fair thing to do is to tell him how you feel.

would u want someone to date u out of pity?? He deserves ur honesty. Tell him the truth, u want to be friends only, this is not going to be the first time he'll hear this, or the last, THATS LIFE!
If he hasnt already figured it out by ur actions, he will, and he will feel EVEn more like crap, like a joke. Get together and let him down nicely, tell him he is GREAT, a awesome friend, person, etc, but its not going to work

take it from me dont do it. I dated a girl because i felt sorry fro her. She was in love with my friend for over a year and he wanted nothing to do with her. she never really had any boyfriends and i felt sorry for her. i made the mistake of dating her and it has ruined alot in my life. i dont hang out with my family anymore because she is always there and now i am going through a paternity battle because she supposidly has my child (doubt it) she like to lie alot. It was the biggestmistake and worst thing i've done. I dont love her and dont want a child with her and now i have to deal with that

Break it off and be honest. Believe me, it's better for him to know that you don't have feelings for him than it is for you to string him along because you feel sorry for him. Leave him be so he can find someone who truly likes him.

No, No, No That's unfair to both of you. Try to find a kind way to tell him & hope you can still be friends.
