the more megapixels, the clearer the photo will be. best brand of digital cameras? depends on if ur going for a P&S or SLR. personally im fond of canon. If ur just looking for a good camera to take pictures of ur dog/kids/ the neighbor hood barbecue, something like canons a620 or a610 would work. If ur interested in taking professional shots, u should look into getting an SLR with a few interchangable lenses. of course that will cost quite a bit more. Someone told me once "always get as much camera as u can afford" meaning, if you can afford to spend a large chunk of money, on a cam with lots of megapixels etc, do it, just a few years ago, 4MP was the baddest on the market. now u can get P&S {point and shoots} with up to like 7mp. and if u go with a slr, you can even get 12.8 {canons 12.8 costs around $3500}... anyway... gl!! if you have any other questions. feel free to ask!

The higher the number of megapixels the clearer the picture. Most cameras are of reasonable quality and depending on the use that you are going to make of the camera, a high end brand name is a waste of money. I have an inexpensive Kodak and am happy with it.

more is better my daughter has an awesome fuji fine pix 9 mega pixel camera, she just came back from Japan and you should see the pics they are great, most kids' photos couldn't even find Mt Fuji her pics are so clear the guide wanted her to sell them to the shops for postcards! She also tooks photos of the other kids blowing bubbles and you can see colors in the bubbles that are so clear and amazing! We have never seen anything like this camera can master, but my daughter is going to be a photogragher and is in school for this, but this is one awesome camera! I know some people will tell you fuji isn't good don't listen to them test the camera for yourself and what you want it for , othares will tell tell you there is no such thing as a 9 mega pixel camera yet but trust me there is I have one, and I paid $500 for it not $1000 like some will charge you, shop around, prices vary greatly. I am not telling you to buy this camera you might not need one this good but please do the reseach at a shop that sells many cameras not just one brand, for one price then, armed with your knowlegde go shop online, you will get a better deal 9 out of 10 times. We got our $1000 camera for $500 because we bought online and that was after we shopped around not only around town but on many different websites. Good hunting and good shopping. By the way if you aren't a real serious photogragher a 5mega pixel should be plenty but try them out and see what you are happy with and don't let the salesman talk you into something you won't be happy with!

More! The more megapixels you have, the better the image is. It affects the quality of the detail in the photos. If you have say 6 megapixels as opposed to 5, the photos will turn out less grainy and have more detail. It just gives you a higher quality print.

more. def. more, I think some cameras are up to 7 megapixels. the more megapixels, the better quality/clarity of the photo. most cameras today are pretty good...but personally, i do not like Canon. Ithe best cameras are the Professional ones by nikkon. Sony is OK, too.
i find it amazing that cell phones have cameras with over 3 megapix now!!!

More, but it is improving monthly. Some 3.5 mp (mega pixel) cameras give very good results. Profession standards are reached with up to 8 mp and the advantage is that you can zoom in on your computer and pick out individual parts of the overall without losing clarity and resolution. As important as the mp's is a good quality zoom, the use of rechargable batteries and a 'cradle'. This means that you can place your camera into it and it will recharge the batteries, transfer your photos to the computer without having to remove the batteries or the smart/flash card. The latest versions are the equivilant and style of the SLR 35 mm cameras of old and have removable lenses. They are expensive but excellent for top quality.....................

The more the better. In all honesty there is no reason to get more than 4 or 5 megapixels, but apparently they make around 18.

More is always better, especially if you have just part of the picture that you want to blow up as an enlargement.
Nowadays 5 megapixel point-and-shoot ones are close to $100 and they are good enough for almost anything.
Look for one with optical zoom and an easy way to get pictures out of camera.
Unless you are going to spend major money for it most of the name brands are about the same.

greater is greater advantageous yet they are able to be utilized in yet in a distinctive way. some cameras unfold them around the image at the same time as others focus them from the centre out. approximately 5 or 6 megapixels is seen to be equivalent to common photograph high quality.
