The old chicken soup remedy works wonders on sore throats. Make sure it has lots of sliced up onion in it (even if you don't like onions, you won't be able to taste them in the soup) because the vitamin C will help boost your immune system. Drink lots of orange juice as well, for the vitamin C and because it will help combat the over production of mucous that typically comes along with a sore throat.
Also remember to gargle. Make a glass of salt water as hot as you can stand it, and then a glass of ice water. Begin gargling with the warm salt water and then switch to the ice water, alternate between the two until the glasses are empty. Do this a couple of times a day, or as often as you'd like to soothe your throat. This will help kill any bacteria in your throat, as bacteria cannot adjust to rapidly changing temperatures very well.
Hope that helped! Feel Better!

If you have a fever or muscle aches, you can take a pain reliever like acetaminophin (Tylenol), aspirin or ibuprofen (Advil). Your doctor can tell you which pain reliever will work best for you. Cough drops or throat sprays may help your sore throat. Sometimes gargling with warm salt water helps. Soft cold foods, such as ice cream and popsicles, often are easier to eat. Be sure to rest and to drink lots of water or other clear liquids, such as Sprite or 7-Up. Don't drink drinks that have caffeine in them (coffee, tea, colas or other sodas).

Egg drop soup, chicken noodle soup, Mrs. Grasses (extra noodle) soup. Broth, home made chicken seasonesd with lots of sage... Sage seasoning on all and anything. (Cold stuff will only be a temporary releif and irritate the sorness and it will increase, hot makes it swell and as a result it will decrease the soreness when it goes back down to normal size.
Eat oranges and clemintines yum! and drink lots of water and lemon aid with little sugar this will flush the system faster.
Once you start to sweat after eatting the hot stuff you'll know the worse is over and your healing has started...
Feel better soon!

Drink Tea with Honey in it.
Honey is a well known healer and the tea is just a nice way of getting the honey to your throat. You could always put some lemon in it for the vitamin C aspect but it's the honey that will do the most for you.

You mainly have soft food because if it is hard it may cause your thought to be more sore than it already is. I recommend heated up milk (over stove or microwave) add honey and just to spice it up a bit add a pinch of cinnamon. If you do not like cinnamon you don't have to add it. But what helps me the most is not to eat anything for the day, but only drink liquids!!!

Someone told me drinking lemon water will help soothe a sore throat, I do it and it feels like it helps. Avoid any dairy products because they will irritate your throat.

soft foods would be best, avoid milk or dairy products when you have a sore throat. another thing i find that helps, is gargle with warm salt water, it will cleanse and sooth your throat..use about 1 heaping tablespoon in an 8 ounce glass...as warm as you can stand it..then gargle...hope this helps.

Warm chicken noodle soup. Also mix lemon and honey in tea(no sugar, the honey sweetens it) to soothe your throat and kill the bacteria. Hope you feel better!
