No but to stop it from burning your scalp apply an oil to the scalp before relaxing that will stop the burn, or try the mild instead of regular or super. Dont scratch your scalp prior relaxing it causes the relaxer to burn also.

It depends what kind of relaxers you are using. There is lye relaxers that is harsh on the hair, but easier on the hair strands. Then there are no-lye relaxers, which is easier on the scalp, but h3!! on the hair. Then there is a product called a gel relaxer by New Era http://paynesbeautysupply-salon.stores.yahoo.net/s3.html and https://www.gigibeauty.com/product_info.php?products_id=673. This is ammonium bisulfate based so you can use it safely on the scalp. It smells pretty bad but just shampoo it out when you are done.

THE ANSWER IS NO THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN RELAX YOUR HAIR .....YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE THE STRENGH THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOUR HAIR AND TRY GOING TO A PROFESSIONAL SO YOU WONT OVER PROCESS YOUR HAIR.

IF YOU BOTHER YOUR SCALP IT WILL BURN AND THE LONGER YOU KEEP IT IN YOUR HAIR THE MORE IT WILL BURN MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAFEFULLY.

flat ironing is honestly the only other way without chemicals.and that does loosen the tightness after awhile. but if you dont mind doing chemicals... u can resort to a perm. getting a perm for overly curly hair can actually tame that frizzy overly curly hair. and it looks good when ur done too. especially when u perm it and then u flat iron it. but ud have to wait a few days after the perm to flat iron it of course. good luck.
