On Average it's less than one per year, if you take all the bouts from everywhere around the world. The truth of the matter it doesn't happen that much at all, people think because of the nature of the sport the numbers would be higher but not so. If the number of deaths per year averaged out to be three to four a year you'd have thirty to fourty dead fighters on your hands in a ten year period, how would you be able to argue with the AMA with numbers like that. Less than 4 or 3 a year tops, if that. You have a better chance of slipping on wet tile and cracking your head open on a sink and bleed out than dying in a boxing ring!
