They can get hookworm, roundworm(moms give to kittens thru milk), and tapeworms. You can read about these at the website. And yes they can do great harm to the mother and kittens. So I Highly suggest you take the mother the the vet and they will give her dewormer (should be taken to the vet every year for this and other things). Dewormer will take care of everything. But afterwards if they had worms you will see the dead ones in their poop and theres a good chance the dewormer will give her diarrhea for a day or 2 which is normal.

Any cat can get worms. Is she any outdoor cat or an indoor cat? If she's an indoor only cat and she has been to the vet and has had all of her empirical de-worming, then the chances are good that she does NOT have worms. If she does go outside and you are noticing something in her stool or behind, then the chances are good that she DOES have worms. The best way to know is to drop off a fresh stool sample to your vet. Mama cats usually do pass worms to the kittens through the milk (whether she does or doesn't have worms). This is NORMAL. The kittens will be fine. They will need to visit the veterinarian after they are 3-4 weeks old for their first set of shots and a deworming.

Any cat at any stage of its life can get worms. The most comun worms are tape worms which they get if the cat has swallowed a flea. So to get rid of the problem, you have to get rid of the fleas first, Frontline Plus for cats is awesome. To get rid of the tape worms, you will have to go to the vet and get the pills for that, one or two pills will do it and they are very cheap and they work instantly!. You can tell if they are tape worms because as they come out of her rectum they split and when they get dry they look like rice. There are other kinds of worms but tape worms are more likely to be what she has, other worms will be like ring worms and those ones are very aggressive they come out in a shape of yarn. However your Kittie is pregnant and either medication will have to be prescribed by your vet. I do not know much about feline pregnancy and medications. The worms should not affect the kittens but they will hurt your pregnant cat big time, so the best thing to do is to make an appointment with your vet and just ask about it, the frontline and the worm medicine is not expensive at all.

but i think u shuld look up heartworms & toxoplasmosis....i've seen a lotta heartworm commercials & i know toxoplasmosis is like a kind of worm that eats people's brains and is transmitted to us by cats
