see if your area has what is known as "community mental health" run by the county or the state. There might be help there maybe.

One thing that helps most people is exercise.
It kicks in the bodies natural endorphins.
But if you feel that you are suffering from depression and you have no health insurance, you can contact your county offices and see what help they can offer you.
Depression is a serious thing and should not be ignored.
You need to push to get help for yourself.
That of course is the Catch 22 of the whole thing.
If you were not feeling depressed you would not need help, if you are depressed - you are having problems helping yourself.
However - depressed people can help themselves.
I am counting on you to follow through and get the help you need.
I know it is not easy - but I also know that you are worth it!
All the best.

When I pray, any depression evaporates. I'd say find a good Christian (non Catholic) Church & meet the Pastor for guidance & prayer. It's probably going to take more than one concerted effort on your part to find the best available Church or Community Organization to render the most satisfying results, but a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

I don't know about natural remedies, but there should be a clinic you could go to for treatment. Some are free and some work on a sliding scale. Best wishes to you and peace be yours!

Call your city, county, or state government offices. They should have a department of mental health or other office that helps people with your problems.
For natural remedies see the chapter in the excellent references below.

Contact your county's department of social services. You can see a doctor for mental health issues without insurance. It might be free or very little cost--depending on your income and your bills. They can also give you medication samples so that you do not have to buy a prescription.

You maybe eligible for Medicaid. Depression is not something you can fix yourself no matter how hard you try. Depression that runs in the family is from a chemical imbalance.

It's like having cancer and putting a band-aid on it.

Many companies offer counseling as a free service to their employees while guaranteeing privacy. I suffered for a long time and professional help is what got me through it. Many doctors can help for free or at a reduced cost for people who don't have insurance. Also, if you are in school, you can get assistance through there. Get help soon, you will be so glad you did and it is worth any amount.
