after a work out ur body needs lots of water and protein to help ur muscles than grains whole wheat multi grain fruit vegies through out the day but ur muscles need protein to build

i don't know about after running, but before hand you should eat a banana. they're high in potasium and this causes you not to cramp up halfway through the jog.

after i work out i always eat cereal high in grains and top it off with fruit yogurt i find it most replenshing for my body.

one banana (potassium,aka Vitamin K improves circulation)
1/3 cup cottage cheeze (loaded with primo protien)
Cup of OJ (tropicana has great vitamin fortified OJ's)
you'll get all the easy to burn carbs in the fruits.
