No. In the Uk its got totally out of hand! Just too many. With other countries set to join the European Union, there will be yet another influx. The health service and schools cannot cope. Its about time the Government started to limit migrant workers.

we have 1.7 million adults out of work at the momment and yet 50,000 people are immigrating here every 3 months (interestingly jobless figures are actually increasing at around the same rate and for 16 of the past 17 months they have shown increases).
When the government first announced uncontrolled immigration on the new E.U member states it said there were 600,000 jobs to be filled by migrants - 700,000 poles later there are apparentlry still 600,000 vacancies!!!!!

I think you need to ask yourself what exactly a job no-one wants to do is classed as. Is it a job which is hard to fill because it is the dirtiest most horrible job, one which needs overly qualified people or simply one which because of the influx of foreign workers has seen it's renmueration package tumble?

Sure, as long as those immigrants enter the country legally.

Doing a job that "an American doesn't want to do" is not a valid excuse to look the other way while non-US citizens violate our immigration and labor laws and enjoy the benefits of the social services funded by the US taxpayer.

First of all I don't agee with your statement about politicians
importing immigrants.

I have first class experience in dealing with migrant workers seeking employment. Alot of these people come from areas of high unemployment and very low saleries.

I deal with many companies that would have gone under if not for the European workers that they have employed.

The recruitment agency I work for have tried recruiting british workers over and over again but we have had so many problems letting us down.

The main problem today is that fact that Mr Blair wants everyone to go to Universtity even those who wont necessarily benefit. Currently we have a massive shortage of skilled tradesman in this country and that gap is being filled by migrant workers.

I am british and I do not mind these people coming over here to work, i will offer work to the person who is most qualifed and commited, irrespective of their country of origin.

Surely it is a basic right to be able to earn an honest living and provide for yourself no matter where you are from or where you are living.

politicicans aren't totally daft: they know there is a skills crisis and they know that immigrants are needed to address this problem. The only matter for debate is how many immigrants. Again, I think the government is more on top of this issue than it makes out: if it lets in 50,000 Bulgarians (or Iraqis, or whatever it might be) it's because we need that number of immigrants.
I'd rather see a hard-working foreigner get a job or even benefits here than some of the thick, illiterate white trash we grow ourselves.

No. Its not the work its the stress on other areas of our life. We need 400,000 new houses over the next few years to house them. Schools can't cope with it. The people in the UK who are not working should be made to get a job or benefits stop. Then if we need immigrants lets do it in an orderly fashion.

Erm no.
I do a job I do not want to do.
It still pays the bills and I would be a lot worse off without it.

We got plenty of people on the dole who can be forced into the worst jobs, we don't need foreigners to come and get rich off us (the money they make here is worth a lot more in their country when they go back home after a few years)

Not that I mind most of them, I get on ok with the polish & lithuanian ones its just that there are too many coming here...

I doubt I would like to give our politicians the credit. It is because we are a great country of opportunity that others want to come here and work hard. The politicians have had nothing to do with that. If we wanted to do these jobs in the first place there would be no jobs for the 'immigrants' to do. We can hardly blame tham for that. Good luck to them I say. Welcome to the UK. Hope you have a great time.

No. We should be ungrateful for them creating an educational system where it's almost impossible to fail exams so that even the stupidest person thinks they're qualified enough to be a managing director instead of realising that all they're fit for is the crappy jobs that we now have to import workers to do.

What is going to happen when these immigrants who do the "jobs we don't want to do" start asking for better pay and conditions? they will eventually have to if they are going to stay here for any length of time..

so what happens then? do we find another bunch of people to exploit??
