I have this cat that I got about a year ago and at first when she would bite and scratch me I just thought that she wasn't used to me and that she would grow out of it but she still bites and scratches me everyday and makes me bleed quite a bit. I love her very much and I don't want to get rid of her so I need some advice on how to get her to stop bitting and scratching me.

after about 6 or 7 months my cats basically stoped scratching and biting me. I made it known to them that it was an unacceptable behavior when they did it and the learned. you may have to teach or re-teach your cat that you are not a toy. when playing with her have a toy in your hand if she starts biting you, put the toy in her mouth. if she continues, end the play session and firmly but gently grab her by the back of her neck and look right into her eyes and yell NO! Do that with scratching too. if she continues, give her a time out. put her in her crate for like 10 mins or so for her to calm down and then you can start again. make sure to praise her when she is being good.

My cat is 7 months old and she bites and scratches as well. What seems to work with us when she's getting rough is that I simply scream "Ouch". She looks at me and then comes to lick me. She doesn't meant to hurt you its just a form of affection or playfulness. Another way is to just walk away. Cats love attention and if you walk away from them and not play wtih them they see it as a form of punishment. Trust me she will learn. Good Luck!

Well here it is! If your cat is a female, and is older, they tend to be that way! Heres what to do, do NOT keep bothering your cat, because she'll get annoyed, and be sure to be calm around her, give her wet food like Iams wet food chicken in gravy, or something, call her over, and give her the food and walk away until she's done. Then you can play with her. Me and my uncle created the ultimate toy. Fill foil with a little bit of tuna (enough for cat to smell it) ball foil, attach to string and let her chase the ball when it's in your hand, (you can put a string in tuna as well) Hope it helps, BYE!

Does she seen aggravated
when she does this? Some cats just play rough. Was she grown when you got her? Maybe she had a bad experience from before. Just try to be gentle and patient with her.
Some cats don't like to be bothered at times. Try letting her come to you first. You may have to accept that this is just her personality.

Discipline ... roll up a newpaper and swat her butt when she does it, or try a spray bottle of water if you dont want to swat. Either way, you have to let her know that is naughty behavior for kitty.
