I never go to church. I don't think i should waste a sunday sitting in a building listening to an old guy preach. I can be doing more productive things with my time. Like cleaning around the house and buying groceries and stuff like that. I don't understand why we have to "WORSHIP" God. So if you go to church, how often do you go, and why???

Everything everybody said was very interesting. I have a high respect for people like y'all who go to church and worship Mr. Almighty. I understand that it might be the right thing to do, and he is our "creator", and he has done so much for me, well in all reality, its all scientific, not magical god. But i have my doubts and beliefs. I "half way" beleive in god. And its not just the how boring church is, its more like, i dont have time and all the people that go to church in my town are really wierd. I don't know about all that. I am a sweet girl and a lot of people like me (not to sound conceited) but i just don't see how people can spend most of all of their time worshiping some one who could possibly not exist. If there is a god, then why are there so many other religions? If the bible is the way we are supposed to live and all that, why are there other ways? And why would he kill a young man whom everybody loves with downssyndrome? And a sweet girl who just graduated high school?

PRAISE JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahaha.....seriously. I want to marry you. I totally think the same way. The idea of outwardly worshiping "god" is pathetic. It would seem to indicate "god" has a complex....much like a girl that gets self concious/worried when you don't phone her. He needs to see the actual worshipping to appease his ego?

If you have spiritual beliefs then that's great. But i think the baby jesus would be able to know this without you having to sit in a church saying hail marys all day.

PRAISE JESUS!!!!!!

I go every Sunday and some Wednesdays, I worship God because I am grateful for all the wonderful things he's done for me. Plus in the bible it says it is good for Those who love God to come together and draw strength from each other and him. Maybe you just need another church, The preacher at my church is funny and has a interesting way of teaching. He is fairly young too on 35 or so. I really just go to show God how much I love him he is worth me putting aside all the other things I could have been doing just to show him how much I appreciate him waking me up and keeping me and my family healthy and happy. God Bless

Well most religions all agree that you are supposed to "worship" God. It says so in the Bible. I didn't go to church for a long time because I felt the same way you do. I was like" Aw I don't have to get up early in the morning to show God I care he already knows" Some family encouraged me to go and I came back feeling more connected to God. I don't go as often as I should (once or twice a month) but I go as often as I can and always try to convince others to come with me.

I attend service every week. Attending church is not 2 c old or young guys preaching. It is 2 hear GOD words that we can apply in our daily life. When GOD use the preacher to preach it is the words that can build us up spiritually. We read Bible, we can understand what we read, but we may not go beyond what we read and understand. The preacher will be able to help us.

When I was a young Christian, I was thinking of the woman with the Alabaster Jar to wash Jesus' feet. People unhappy about it and made commend. I asked myself y just a small pc of perfume and they made so much noise. In today context, we can't understand how import about this small little perfume.

Now I understood and treasured everything I have. Thank GOD 4 giving privilege 2 understand and appreciated things.

I go to church every week and i go because i love to talk about and sing to God. Not all churchs have an old guy standing preaching about God. Maybe you shoud find a church that has more activity oriented type of sermons! What i mean is don't stop going to church just because the preacher is boring! you arn't there for the preacher you are there for God!

Worship God by doing something nice for someone else without expecting payment for it. Go read to seniors, hosptiallized, go visit the people in jail, feed the hungry. This is what Jesus will ask of you, what you do for the least of his people you do for him. Take care of the poor, loan them mney without interest or expecting repayment, take someone food, give that waitress a little extra on her tip, help a single mom, many many things to be done. Don't judge others because you do not know the situation: see the bitter hearts of stone all over the world? If we soften and relent to helping those who cannot help themselves then we will be better for it, so will our future.
And Sabbath can happen anyday, not just on Sunday.

I go every week...I go because I want to learn more than I know now. I totally understand why you would not like to "listen to an old guy preach", but many churches are not like that anymore. In larger cities, you will find awesome churches that have classes for your questions (a.k.a. doubts), fresh music (no more hymns) and energetic speakers. There is a lot to learn from old guys at church, but give a church a try that is more to your liking. If you are in Indy, try Northview Christian Life in Carmel. It is awesome--my kids can't wait to go to church there!

Once a week at least. By the way, sometimes it is a young guy that does the preaching, and sometimes it is not a guy but a girl! I go because I want to be a better person, and it helps.

I don't believe in a diety that needs to be worshipped, My God is much Greater than that . Besides, I find God to be in many more places for me than in a church. So no I don't go to church , because I can feel Gods presence with me at anytime. If someone is a church goer, however, I hope it makes them feel closer to God.
