My girl kitty, Madison, very rarely says anything. She purrs a lot though and will hiss if my boy cat, Theo, plays with her too rough. The only way I can make her talk is when I'm putting their food down in the morning, I do it very slowly. If she's hungry enough, she'll give me a sad "meew?".
Your cat is happy if he purrs, if he walks around with his tail up, if he lays on his back and gives you his tummy to rub. That all means he's comfortable with you and trusts you, which means he's happy.

My kitty hardly ever cries. Only in the morning when I feed her or when i come from work when she misses me. Other then that she's pretty quiet. You can tell because they pur. If they are laying on their tummys they have their tail going a mile a minute, they come over and want to be petted. It sounds like your little boy is doing just fine. Congratulations and good luck!

Some animals are just very quiet. My sister has a feral-born cat that she got when it was very young, and he almost never vocalizes unless he's really unhappy about something. Even then, it's not very loud.

Maybe he doesnt like to meow or doesnt know how or just doesnt want to. My grandma's dog is like that. She will only bark if someone is at the door, never anytime else.

your kitty is very happy. He probably hasn't learned to meow yet, he will, don't worry. The fact that he comes to you to be pet, he is happy
