No she should not give him anything because she's already given him her heart and her hand in marriage.

I don't see why not.
My boyfriends birthday fell just over a month after he proposed and I wanted to buy him something nice that he could keep for his birthday so I bought him a ring as his birthday present and he said that he wanted to treat the ring as an engagement ring.
There's some very nice male jewellry out there, why not take him out to a shopping centre and as his opinion of stuff in a few shops then walk past a jewellers and ask him opinion of the jewellry. That way you can get an idea what sort of stuff he likes without him getting getting suspicious. You can then sneak off and buy it.
Good luck :)

I'm feeling all torn up about this same question. I feel bad that my fiance bought me this expensive ring, and all I gave him was a wet shirt when I cried all over him after saying yes!
I've decided to be very sneaky and get him something for the wedding. I'm thinking about getting the wedding bands engraved with something romantic and maybe buying him a new watch or something. Still got a while to plan this out, since the wedding is next year.

Hi, a ring also. Men can get commitment rings to show that they are commited to you. This is the perfect time for you to get him one as he has asked you to marry him which means he is commited. I didnt give my boyfriend anything because i never really heard of commitment rings until recently, but im sure i would of got him one. I just bought him a normal mans ring to wear on any finger. But its up to you. Buy him a pack of lager that will make anyman happy, LOL (joke)

She can give him an engagement ring - I heard that's the new trend but my husband isn't big on jewelry so when he bought my engagement and wedding bands, I simply bought his wedding ring. He didn't want two rings, know what I mean? But he happily wears the wedding band and it was fun for him because he got to pick out exactly what he wanted.

I dont believe it is customary to give a man anything. He asked you with the ultimate goal of having you around him for the rest of his life. That is a gift in itself.
A friend of mine however, went a step further and got a ring tattooed on his finger. He didnt mind because she is the only one he will ever be with and she wanted to get him something. (she paid for the tattoo).
Otherwise, it isnt something you need to do. just if you want to.

It's a nice thing to do - to give something back. Helps if their jewellery people (not sure the latest footie top would do...but hey as long as your happy). Maybe a necklace or a watch if not a ring too. What do you fancy buying him??

Before my fiance and I got engaged we used to joke around that the deal was if he got me a ring I'd buy him a huge flat screen TV. LOL Of course that didn't happen but he still jokes about where his TV is. I told him after we get married.
Anyways...no you don't need to get him anything unless you really want to. But he asked you to marry him and you said yes. Thats all he wanted.

A ring for him too, or a watch.
In some cultures when people get engaged or married, they exchange spoons.

It's really up to you. You don't have to do anything other than love him.
I however, did buy my fiance a ring. Not a fancy, expensive one, just one he could wear when we go out together or if he went out "with the guys". It's difficult for him to wear while he drums. I was concerned about this with a wedding ring. We've gotten a lightweight one for him; he said he'll get use to it. :)
