The system used by the Israelis is a variant of the Patriot PAC-3. The system used by the US is a completely different ABM system. The Patriot is primarily a SAM (ie, anti-aircraft) with a limited capability against missile (such a Scud or a Katyusha). The anti-missile system deployed by the US is a anti-ICBM type : ie a large, powerful rocket designed to destroy an incoming nuclear warhead high above the ground.
The US system would be useless against Katyusha rocket. The Katyusha doesn't fly high enough to allow an interception and it would be VERY expensive to use such system against a Katyusha.

Ok, Lesson #1 - A Katyusha rocket is NOT a missle. Think of it more as rocket propelled artillery. They're anywhere from 6 to 12 feet long fired from tubes usually mounted on some sort of vehicle with 12 to 24 or more tubes per launcher. It's a very crude, outdated technology developed in WWII and used extensively by the Soviets. Very poor acuracy, you basically just aim at a large area and shoot.
Lesson #2 - Missiles that the Patriot system shoot down are large Ballistic Missiles such as Scuds. The Patriot was never designed to shoot down missiles, it was an anti-aircraft defense system that was pressed into service in the Gulf War to shoot down Scuds and was later modified to be a anti-ballistic missile system.
Lesson #3 The systems that are protecting the US now are only in their infancy but are becoming better all the time. Mostly the direction our Ballistic Missile defense is taking is using laser to target the incoming ICBM.
Lastly, contrary to popular belief we do not give the Israelis all of our technology. Much of what they do have from us is one generation old but still vastly better than the Soviet equipment their enemies are still using.

in accordance to the CIA, the major significant chance to the U. S. is the united kingdom...particular, i'm shaking. Earl gray teas, biscuits rather of cookies...it quite is basically terrifying! particular, I comprehend that they have got some thousand radical Muslims. i'm no longer scared. on the U. S.-Israeli kinfolk component, in holding with danger it would want to be ideal if we stopped giving hands to theocracies. i'm a Christian, yet theocracies are MADE to oppress an ethnic or non secular minority. this is going for Iran too, yet we do not grant Iran hands, now do we? fairly, no count number what the circumstances, each and every time a Palestinian is killed, it rather is finished with a weapon made marvelous precise right here contained in u.s., and that would not seem very sturdy to something of the international.

They have patriot missile launchers, but they're like $1.3M per shot. It wasn't worth it to intercept the hezbollah rockets, which were streaming in at 100+ per day.

Why they did not work is because you don't shot an anti-missile at rockets. Rockets are too small to track and hit.

little rockets are like a mortar not much you can do to avoid them .only try to destroy the launchers.None of the larger rockets were effective so if they are the same little nuisance rockets will get through but not the large destructive ones

israel has the best anti-missiles (Patriot) that USA supplies by its taxpayers money.
But israel deliberately let the lebanese primitive rockets strike them to gain international sympathy
