Me and this girl have been friends since 10th grade and we have been best friends almost as long. I have had feelings for her since day 1. I have gotten to know her in and out. I have heard even bad things about her and i still care about her just the same. At the end of senior year, we ended up getting closer ( kissing, touching, etc) we never actually hooked up but we were on the phone every night talking this summer. We are going to seperate colleges and when I asked her about there being an "us", what i got from her and what she said was that she does have feelings for me but is scared that she will mess up and then lose not only her boyfriend but her best friend too. I don't use the word love loosely but I love this girl. I think about her every single day. She makes me feel so great just being with her. Is there someway either now or down the line I can convince her that it could work and that we'll be best friends no matter what happens? or at the very least work on it? Help ME!

It is definately a hard situation to be in because if things don't work out between the two of you then it can hurt the friendship that you have. However, it is so much nicer to be good friends first and then be together. I actually ended up with my best friend so it is possible and if you truely are best friends and it doesn't work out as a couple then you will fight to keep the friendship. It really can happen because it happened to me.

I think dating your best firend is possible. But the only thing is, you have to know how close you guys really are and where you stand before you actually start dating. Because like she said you could mess up a really good relationship. So just be careful and think about what your asking for because it is the worst thing to loose a best friend that way. TRUST ME I KNOW.

No, it's a physical impossibility. Einstein covered it in his theory of relationativity.
But seriously, what I think is the problem is that you are just waaaay too far in the friend zone with her, and she doesn't feel enough ATTRACTION for you. Your only hope (and it's a meager one at that) is to pull yourself OUT of being friends with her and be a MAN, not a little teddy-bear buddy. Tease her more. Don't cater to her as much. Let her know what a catch you are TO OTHER WOMEN as well.

i have also known this guy for more than a year and had developed into so called heavily petting relationship. It really takes 2 hands to clap. If you really love her please express to her directly. Else, you gona regret it when shen slip out of your hand.

I would never date a friend because when you break up you can't really stand being with them because it hurts badly, but if you really like her you can try it.good luck
