Well, I'd say that I'd:

a) never date an ex of my friend or someone close to them
b) never date a guy who had previously cheated... like someone else said, once a cheater always a cheater
c) be extremely cautious about re-dating an ex: thinking about why the relationship ended the first time beforehand
d) very important: that he respects me and cares for me for who I am (I can be myself around him and not worry about him "running away"), and won't force me to do anything I don't want to do
e) it's not mandatory, but a cute smile and a good sense of humor is nice too... I like a guy who can make me laugh
f) I saw it on another girl's, and it's so true for me so I'm adding it: he can't smoke, and if he drinks it shouldn't be a lot, because I can't stand drunks

When I was dating I had very high standards, but I was willing to give anyone one try. The reason for this was so I can see what type of person was good for me and if there was even the smallest thing that bugged me I wouldn't be stuck in a toxic relationship. Go out, have fun, meet people, but only stay with the person you love.

the last time i dated they basically had to be a man with a pulse.
My single friend will only date a man with a car and a job but im not that discerning- my partner didnt have a job for a long time, and it was tough for a while but he is definitely the one so i rode it out and it was worth it.
If i had to do it again now my rules would be- if you dont really fancy them dont sleep with them on the first date.
but some people can grow on you.
dont date someone who your friend has recommended if it goes badly then you are likely to bump in to them again
dont date someone who has just come out of a relationship- even though i did, there is too much baggage!
and i personally wouldnt date someone who works in the porn industry/sex trade

2. A girl who can take a joke.

4. A girl who can state her opinion in an intelligent, informed manner.
5. A girl lacking in hang ups or traumas.

No dudes.
Shaving is not preferable.
Noone from the Southern tips of India or Africa.
An alcoholic who attends AA would be nice...

Yes! I date men who have dark hair, dark eyes, have ambition, a FULL TIME job, their own car (and its clean), Preferably their own place or with room mates, BUT NEVER ONE THAT LIVES AT HOME.. Someone who has his act together, and the most important rule... is SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER CHEATED ON ANYONE EVER... I firmly believe once a cheater, always a cheater. So Ive never dated anyone who has cheated, and WOW... whatcha know... I've never been cheated on!!!

8.) must be in decent shape
