I would say, "Happy Birthday you dang Jerk!" hahaha, no don't say that, I know that it is temptation knocking, but tell him happy birthday hunny and give him the hugest kiss, and tell him that you love him...maybe he doesn't mean to put his anger on you, I know that some people project their anger on the nearest person though it isn't them that they are mad at. Do that and see what happens. Have you talked to him about why he is acting so toxic lately? Maybe you both need a nice chat, and I do mean nice conversation after his birthday, or on it if the behavior is so bad.

Have you asked him why he is being a jerk? Communication is an important part of a relationship. Talk to him and really listen to his answer. Throw him a party for his birthday anyway. Let him know you still love him. Just because he's being a jerk doesn't mean you can't show him love. He may rethink his attitude after a good party.

Haha...sounds like my dad....Yeah I promise myself I won't talk to him ever again, because he acts like a royal douchebag. Don't worry...you will ignore him for most of the day, but at some point both of you will have a moment where you will both smile and "make-up" Don't expect an apology for the way he was actiing, but you will basically give in and wish him a happy birthday.

Have you stopped to think that a lot of men have real issues with birthdays and aging? We women may lie about our ages and such, but at least we deal with it in the open. Men keep a whole lot inside, so their partners need to interpret their actions and then try to dig out the problem. If we can't solve it, at least it's out in the open and not festering.
Smile real big and kill him with kindness. This confuses the heck out of them and gets them thinking.

Aknowledge that you haven't been getting along, discuss the reasons why, ask if you have done something that has upset him and explain you want to get past it and have a nice day for his birthday.
