Drinking. There are good and bad drinkers...sure.. Because drinking alcohol effects the brain to such a degree....it effects ones emotions so deeply. Happy, sadness, anger management, sleepy, etc.
Smoking or drinking effects people in different ways to be sure.....but smokers are generally only hurting themselves. Drinkers hurt themselves and everyone around them IF they cant control their behaviour while they have alcohol in their system.
I'm not talking about diseases...I'm talking about EMOTIONAL damage to others. A smoker isnt likely to get so out of touch with his/her feelings that they could physically harm a loved one. If anything they are more likely to get snippy if they havent had a cigarette and then it will be shortlived. A smoker is only going to give themselves a lung problem.
The cancer gene is in 90% of the population........there are many other carcinogenes OTHER than cigarettes....like a body blow, peanuts, chocolate, aging.
Drinking is a one-off catastrophy about to happen....it doesnt sneak up on you....its vital and final...and I'm so pissed off that alcoholic drinks dont have the same yucky pics on their labels that smoking packets do...because its just not fair or even accurate.
Non-smokers with garlic breath extremely smell bad too., so do people that dont visit the dentists often enough...so its BS that smokers get such bad press. At least we dont abuse our family members or run over people!

I think there both bad drinking has became a real problem in the younger kids , but smoking i think is worse just a little but it depends i guess on what the situations of them are because if you smoke lots it will give you cancer and diseases but drinking can become addicting so i wouldn't do either.

Some people smoke like chimneys and live to very old ages. Some people drink like fish and live to very old ages. Some people get lung cancer simply because there are others smoking around them. Some people wreck their liver with a surprisingly small amount of alcohol consumption. It depends. We really don't know who is susceptible to debilitating diseases from these vices, and who is resistent.
To me, smoking is worse, but I have asthma. Drinking can be worse, because it produces debilitating mental effects that could lead to sometimes horribly destructive behavior or behavioral lapses. Still, moderation with alcohol seems safer for longer, for me, because I know what it is like to be unable to breathe--I'd rather be drunk every time.

that is a toss up, I mean DWI/DUI is prety terrible as opposed to smoking while driving....live disease and all, kidney failure, hitting on your boss's wife at the Christmas party etc etc, getting drunk and making poor personal choices, and by far it is the scurge of college campusses...but then lung cancer, artery disease, scores of other respiratory illness...both have odors, drinking is social acceptable pretty much, woo, so much depends on your personal biology, I mean some can drink like a fish and nothing ever happens negative to them, some take one or two and they are plastered, on the road to addiction and AA...and then some people smoke like crazy all their lives and it doesn't seem to matter, they live until 105, no problems, but then some smoke a couple and it just hooks them and then a year later they have cancer and quickly die...wooo, tough choice....I'll bet the smokers say it is drinking and the drinkers say it is smoking, both will toss around stats....maybe those who drink and smoke have it rioght "Well, ya gotta die of something."

There both bad in excess, but smoking is the only one that you should avoid all together. A drink a day can actually be good for you, cigarettes are SOOOO harmful, lung cancer, throat cancer, even smoking too much pot can be harmful. It's all the carbon monoxide and carcinogens in the smoke.

Smoking,is the worst of all these...both smoking and drinking are drugs of a sort so stay away from all of them! If you are talking hard drugs then stay away from them too.all 3 are very addictive, and damage your body and your brain.

I think they are both as bad as each other. They effects are cumulative i.e. You build up your sickness every time you smoke or drink. You can't unsmoke or undrink the final one that causes your cells to mutate and become cancerous.
