To some of us, this is the question the answer to which disproves God's existence. You have to agree first, however, that the universe is not perfect. If a perfect entity can create an imperfect thing, then the entity has a limit and so is not perfect. In fact, under our best legal and ethical rules, God is responsible for all the harm his creation does.

What is your idea of perfection? My idea is different...by saying God created the universe because he is not perfect is to mean that you ultimately defined what perfection means and since you are not perfect then you can not define perfection...so it is impossible for you or anyone on earth to grasp the notion of God's Perfection.

God is perfect. Just because that doesn't meet your definition of perfect doesn't mean the problem is with Him.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Yes he is. i don't think God created the universe because he was lonely or needed love. For if that were the case, he would've created all people to love him automatically instead of giving us the freedom to choose. Why he created the universe? Maybe we'll never know, but aren't you glad he did? Otherwise you wouldn't be here!

to be perfect is to have perfect love, right now we are not perfect so we do not love perfectly if we did then God would not have to remind us to love and thank him. He created the universe and the earth and us so that we can attain a body and come to earth and prove our willingness and faith so that we may return to him.

God is not lonely! He created the universe for his good pleasure. Just like he created us for the same reason.

God did not create the Universe, the Universe is a creation without a creator.
The universal question is why?
Why are we here?
Why do we feel pain?
Why do we die?
Why, why, why???
There is no reason why.
The ultimate answer to life the universe and everything is.......

There is no answer.

But the real mind f#*k is.......

There really is no question.

It shows that God has interests and desires. Perfection isn't boring either.

But it does raise an interesting point: What does motivate God? I would think that he, being a loving parent, is motivated by seeing us, his children, succeed and grow.

Your idea of " perfect " is about being stone still. The dynamic state of "love" not only creates out of love but loves the creation and out of total love, gives full freedom (that you see around), not caring about consequence !
