I love Johnny Depp, but that role would not suit him. So, I would have to pick Christopher Lee, because he's old enough, and he's scarey too. I think that would work well to round out the charactor.

What an interesting question. I'm definitely going to have to devote some more thought to this, but my first answers are either Nathan Lane or Dana Owens (aka Queen Latifah). Essentially I would pick someone with a full body type and good humor. And somebody who doesn't fit the traditional definition.

IndyT picked Whoopie Goldberg and I think that's an excellent choice as well.

The Tooth Fairy (does she count as a celebrity?).

I think she could really portray God's imaginary qualities...

If I had to do with mere Flesh and Blood I'd choose Brian Blessed - he's very good at portraying crazy authority figures (have you ever seen the old British TV comedy Blackadder?). And he kind of fits in with the stereotype.

Whoopie Goldberg. It seems as though she might be able to pull a role like that off with both humor and insight.

I think that Morgan Freeman was a fantastic God in "Bruce Almighty". He has that fatherly, loving, patient air about him. I think I would pick Morgan Freeman.

Is Santa Claus a celebrity? If so, I would pick him.

If not...I'd say that guy who plays Ben Fraser's dad in "Blast from the Past". He seems wise.
