There is a difference in the flavor. The red ones have a sweeter taste. Go ahead and cook it in your recipe, you'll love the taste. A red bell pepper is just a green bell pepper that is ripe. I hope this helps.

Green peppers when cooked become sweet. Red peppers are sweet to begin with. If I only had red,that is what I would use. The only difference will be the color.

Personally I find the red ones are usually sweeter than the green ones. But there are probably a number of varieties of each color, with different tastes. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

If you leave a green bell pepper on the vine, it will change color to a red one as it ages, and will be somewhat milder in flavor.

Yes there is....with a "green" bell pepper you "Go", and with a "Red" bell pepper you "Stop".....oh, wait a minute, that's traffic lights. I think bell peppers are different to, though.
