My cousin has turquoise tile in her bath room. She wants to leave it as she doesn't have the money to change it. Her floor , toylet and sink are white. What color would look good on the walls. She liked a pale yellow. I thought maybe a creamy white. But there are so many whites and yellows Does any one actally know a brand of paint and a color to use that would look good.? It doesn't have to be in the white or yellow family. Just so it looks good. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Devine paint is awesome! It's kind of hard to find though. Try hardware stores or an internet search of places to buy it...

Devine was designed by an artist. It goes on like yogurt and looks like chiffon or something cool like that. This is paint that is actually designed to cover in one coat! Just one! Yeah!

Pale yellow would be an odd and hard to pull off combination with turquoise. It looks really good with brown, but brown walls in a bathroom sound yucky, so why not paint it a robin's egg blue or a few shades lighter than the floors. The fixtures would really pop. Then she could use creamy white crown molding shelves (available at Target) to put a few items like apothecary jars in different sizes, bath salts, and candles (used sparingly) on the walls.

Keep to earth tones. Think of colors in nature while on the beach. The water is (or should be) turquoise. You have the sand, stones, trees, etc. to use as cues. I would stick with a sandy color, i.e., light or medium shades of tan. She could do a tasteful tropics theme.

Stick with quality paints. Please don't do Home Depot as their colors are always a little "off". Try Glidden or a Sears brand. I swear by Sears. The mix is always beautiful. Get a semi-gloss so the color really pops!

To best determine this get a color wheel,,,BUT,,,even better, find links to sites, or go in person to where Native American Jewelry is sold. Turq, has many complimentary cousins, IE: Rusts, Reds, Blacks, Pearl, etc. NOT yellow.

The brand is a nebulous issue. Certainly there are a few that are quality. I've applied thousands of gallons of paint, and choose the quality I've had good experiences with.

I like the bright lavender with
turquoise/aqua. As a matter
of fact, if you scroll down to
the bottom of the page they
have the family of the color
combination in the title
"Open Questions."
My sister had her large
bathroom painted a light
but bright lavender and
has white trim. I saw
some bright turq/aqua
accessories for her
room and they were
beautiful together.
Tell your cousin she
has the latest color,
and to work with it.
She will be surprised
at all the stuff for sale
now that will match it!
Mini blinds, bath mats,
towels. Wonderful color!"
Have fun!

If your cousin isn't opposed to a tropical theme, she could get away with using a lot more color.

Turquoise is a blue-green color. Blue's complementary color is orange, and green's complimentary color is red. Adding reds, oranges and yellows to blues and greens will not only warm up the room considerably, it could potentially be more fun to shop for accessories like towels, rugs, shower curtains, etc. Those colors will make the turquoise seem prettier, too, I think.

Don't be afriad of color! Nothing more dull and unimaginative than ecru, in my opinion.

a nice cocoa color looks great with turquoise. A pink-based brown would look amazing with the tile.

Brown - it looks very modern with turquoise. She could accessorize with towels and accents if she didn't want to paint the walls.

Personally, i think yellow would look awful. White would be okay, but I would go with a rich, carmel or toffee color.

i would go with a bright sunshine yellow, but only for accents such as towels and bathmats.
