Surely that would mean that were were made from one mould and not the various creeds, colour and sizes we currently have, or is someone being naughty and lying to us

So genetics has played a part in our diversity and upbringing and free thinking have played a part in our spirit
But surely that goes against what religion says. Evolution is the owrk of the devil as far as ive been told by creationists

Are we?
There is actually very little genetic diversity amongst humans as a species considering how long we've been around.
Although, ignoring religion for the moment, the reason for the lack of diversity is explained by a supervolcano explosion in Indonesia about 70,000 years that caused six years of volcanic winter and almost wiped out the human race.

Don't interpret that Biblical statement in terms of physical appearance, which is only 1/3 of a human.
We are triune beings. Physical. Mental. Spiritual. We are created in God's image all three ways.

God is the personification of beauty, likewise Adam. After the fall sin and ugliness set in - now, these traits are the norm and handed down through generations, we are all a pale shadow of his image to some degree.

God created humans in His image, and people have adapted to their surroundings as time goes on. Example: Black people in Africa developed more melonin (I think is the word) in their skin to adapt to the harsh hot weather and sun, thus causing their skin to become darker.
As far as different languages, consider the story in the Bible of the Tower of Babel...or babble ;)
For different creeds, God has given man free will to believe and do what he wants to, thus why people are so individual in their personality, etc.

Its a tough this to define of In His Image. I see it like art work. When an artist does a painting or a sculture, that artwork is showing a part of who they are, well that what humans are, the different traits of God.

Perhaps you should consider that God loves variety!? That His image in you is internal / spiritual and not physical. And yet at the same time you were planned and purposed before time began. How wonderful!

There is only one God each religion calls him a different name. Its who who ever you conceive him to be, there are different colours of skin because some country's are hotter than others and our skin adapts to which ever country we are born in.

He didnt create us in his image as in clones, but he had two arms...two legs etc...that's what it means. Not a specific image but a general one.
Personally, I think it's bollocks but some people believe it to be true.

When the bible says that we are made in gods image, it meant that we reflect his qualities, like love, etc. Although you don't see much of that these days, that is how we were.
